Work is progressing on new LED street lighting across the parish, replacing outdated sodium lamps. The programme is expected to reduce energy costs by 60% and improve visibility at key junctions. Completion is scheduled for September.

An expression of interest has been submitted for a grant of up to £35,000 to support major improvements at the recreation ground, including new climbing equipment and accessible play surfaces. A decision is expected by the end of June.

The next ordinary meeting of the parish council will be held on Tuesday 6 May at 7pm in the village hall. Agenda items include the annual governance statement, playground inspection report, and highway improvement requests. Public participation is at 7pm.

The parish council has partnered with the Woodland Trust to plant 150 native trees this autumn across three sites. Volunteers are welcome to help with planting days in November. Species include oak, hazel, rowan, and wild cherry to support local biodiversity.

A new public access defibrillator has been installed outside the village shop thanks to fundraising by the parish council and a generous donation from the local WI. Free training sessions will be held on the first Saturday of each month at the village hall.
