The Low Pay Commission (LPC) invites tenders for research exploring the views and experiences of workers in low-paid jobs, including those paid at or close to the National Living Wage (NLW). We expect the research to take the form of a survey of workers, carried out over two waves (one in late 2026, one in Spring 2027). More details on the suggested methodology can be found in the Invitation to Tender document, along with details of how to apply. We are responsible for evaluating the effects of the NMW and NLW and making recommendations on future rates. To carry out these functions, our work involves: • carrying out extensive research and consultation with employers, workers and their representatives and taking written and oral evidence from a wide range of organisations; • analysing relevant data to understand the state of the economy and labour market and the impact of the minimum wage; • commissioning research projects into these questions. This research will provide insights into how workers experience changes in the NLW and into their wider working lives. It will complement the LPC's own quantitative analysis of pay, hours, household incomes and characteristics. Final results will be delivered by September 2027, with a final report due in November 2027. The estimated maximum budget for this project is £50,000 excluding VAT (£60,000 including VAT). There is global interest among policymakers in the impact of the NLW. The findings from this research will directly inform policy decisions touching the lives of millions of workers and thousands of businesses as well as contributing to policy formation in the UK and beyond. This invitation to tender is aimed at larger pieces of research which will add substantial, new insight on the impacts or workings of the minimum wage. We will commission up to three projects under this call. Projects will deliver final results in Autumn 2028. We have also published a call for smaller-scale projects (LPC 2026/01), which would final deliver results by September 2027. The deadline for bids under 2026/01 is 1 September 2026. We are therefore keen to consider tenders that can take advantage of these. A list of suggested topics for research is provided in Section A2 of the Invitation to Tender document. However, we recognise that there may be areas of investigation worth pursuing that we have not yet identified, or which have not previously been considered in great depth. Researchers who believe that they have a worthwhile proposal that would fall into these categories are welcome to submit it for consideration. We would also encourage proposals from those who wish to extend current research on the impact of the minimum wage, whether that original research was funded by us or another organisation. There is global interest among policymakers in the impact of the NLW. The findings from this research will directly inform policy decisions touching the lives of millions of workers and thousands of businesses as well as contributing to policy formation in the UK and beyond. The maximum estimated budget for any single project under this call is £100,000 excluding VAT (£120,000 including VAT). We recognise that proposed projects may vary in their scale and resource requirements and anticipate bids in the range of £60,000 to £100,000 excluding VAT. Tenders will be evaluated on value for money, so bidders should consider the scale and value added of their project and price accordingly. We are only able to evaluate complete tenders. The planned introduction of longer train services to the Airport in response to future demand growth will mean that double stacking arrangements of trains as currently used will no longer be viable. Through the project's Delivery Steering Group, Northern and TransPennine Express have carried out analysis which has identified that additional platform capacity is needed at the airport in order to realise the full benefit of longer train services serving the airport. The scheme is part of a package of proposed measures in the Manchester area that are being designed/planned to boost capacity and resilience, emanating from the Cross Manchester Capacity and Reliability Improvement Study. Improving the operation of train services in the centre of Manchester and providing further capacity at Manchester Airport station, aligns with the strategic aims of Network Rail, TfGM, TfN and the wider industry. This project in in Tranche 1 of the Manchester and North West Transformation Programme (MNTP): A remodelling of the station at Manchester Airport, specifically a platform addition or extension of multiple platforms, or provision of a new turnback facility, will be essential to accommodate the planned implementation of longer rolling stock services. The redevelopment of these platforms will enable permissive working of two 6x24m (144m) trains, in two of the four platforms at the Airport Station. This will allow for the unaltered retention of all existing TOC services both originating and terminating at the Airport Station under 'double-stacking' conditions. The requirement comprises of replicating the original design standard , using modern day equivilance where necessary, to enable the production of six (6) replacement radiators, including two (2) spares, using a “design from pattern part” approach due to the absence of original drawings. The replacement units must be airworthy, compliant with Military Aviation Authority (MAA) regulatory requirements, and demonstrate equivalence in fit, form, and function to the existing. The contractor will be responsible for: Substantiation, qualification, and production of the radiators. Provision of production drawings, design rationale, testing (e.g. pressure, fatigue, NDT), and a Declaration of Design & Performance. Manufacture and delivery of all units in accordance with an agreed schedule as per negotiations Supply of Special to Type Containers for transport and storage of each Provision of certification (e.g. Certificates of Conformity) and compliance with quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001/AS9100 or equivalent) Delivery of in service support artefacts, including a Bill of Materials, Initial Provisioning List, maintenance documentation, and recommended tooling and consumables to support continued airworthiness to an Out of Service Date of 2035 (with potential extension to 2040). Within UKAEA the Lithium Breeding Tritium Innovation (LIBRTI) Programme seeks to create a world leading UK capability for demonstrating the feasibility of powerplant relevant fusion fuel technologies. As part of the facility the Radiation Safety Diagnostics System shall provide continuous monitoring, detection and quantification within the LIBRTI facility to ensure protection of personnel, the environment, and plant assets while enabling safe operation of tritium breeding experiments. Through the design process of the facility UKAEA has identified the technical and functional requirements for the Radiological monitoring instruments required.

Broxtowe Borough Council (the Council) require a single contractor to supply and erect scaffolding at properties across the Broxtowe district. Scaffolding will primarily be required at residential properties of 1, 2 or 3 storeys. The successful bidder will enter into a JCT Measured Terms contract with the Council. In line with its commitment to increasing investment in the UK’s transport infrastructure, the Department for Transport (DfT) requires ongoing access to high-quality, specialist technical and commercial advisory services.
